Invasive Species

  • ART PLAY in NATURE at Chingford Park 411 North Road Dunedin, Otago, 9010 New Zealand (map)
Student Led Town Belt Kaitiaki environmental group shot.

The student-led Town Belt Kaitiaki do hands-on trapping and weeding of invasive species to restore the native biodiversity in the Town Belt.

The Town Belt has quite a few invasive species (plants and animals) that impact on its native biodiversity and ecosystems. Many of these species live in or visit our backyards too! With a changing climate we can expect more / new invasive species.

The TBK students will contribute to ART PLAY in NATURE at Chingford Park with interactive student led environmental activities and shared learning.

Cost:  Free - No Booking Required:

Hosted by Town Belt Kaitiaki: TBK is a student-led environmental education program consisting of 12 participating Town Belt Schools and 3 Early Childhood Centres.  The programme helps young people sustain and care for our natural environment as kaitiaki (guardians).
