You can sign up here to become a Friend of Wild Dunedin and get all the benefits it entails. Be in early for information on events, activities, children’s programmes, tourist deals that are on offer at our regular April Festival. As a Friend of Wild Dunedin, you will receive newsletters and information on local wildlife stories, nature events and escapades all year round.
Make a Donation
Although we are reliant on financial support from funding agencies, sponsors, local businesses, tourism companies and individuals, our aim is to be financially sustainable. Any contributions received go back into creating new programmes, and new opportunities to engage as well as funding to market the Festival, educate and advocate for nature.
If you would like to go the extra mile for Wild Dunedin, we really appreciate donations large and small. This helps us to provide many free and family-friendly events, as well as bring high-powered guests to the City. These experts are able then to share their knowledge, resources, and skills with us and open new doors of possibility.

Join Our Team
Wild Dunedin is run by a small team (mainly volunteers) who are committed to celebrating and protecting Dunedin’s remarkable wildlife and extraordinary wild places. We support local conservation organisations, wildlife operators, educators, artists, scientists, biologists, musicians, astronomers, chefs, community groups to showcase what is unique about life in Ōtepoti/Dunedin. If this is something you too are enthusiastic about, we are always looking out for people who can help, spread the joy, and be part of positive engagement with wildlife and our natural landscapes.
One of the ways that you can support the work of the Wild Dunedin team is to volunteer help at many Festival events and out and about in Dunedin in the lead up to the Festival, handing out programs and advocating for nature.
